REMOVAL
How Long Does Google Take to Remove a Reported Review?
There is no fixed timeline. Some flagged reviews disappear within a few days; others take several weeks, especially if an appeal is needed.
Typical timeline
Clear-cut violations such as spam or obvious fake reviews are often handled quickly. Borderline cases, like reviews that mix a real complaint with a personal attack, take longer and are more likely to need an appeal.
How to check the status
Google’s review management tool shows reviews you have reported and whether a decision has been made. Check it rather than reporting the same review repeatedly, which does not speed anything up.
What slows removal down
- Choosing the wrong policy category.
- No supporting evidence in an appeal.
- Reviews that describe a real visit, even if they contain some problematic language.
While you wait
Respond publicly and professionally. If the review is removed later, your response disappears with it; if not, it is already working for you.
