How to Get a Yelp Review Removed

Yelp works differently from Google. Many reviews are filtered by its recommendation software rather than removed.

Recommended vs. not recommended

Yelp’s software decides which reviews to show prominently. Reviews it doesn’t recommend are still visible in a separate section but don’t count toward your rating.

What Yelp removes

Reviews that break its content guidelines: conflicts of interest, reviews that aren’t first-hand, threats, harassment, and hate speech.

How to report

Log into your Yelp for Business account, find the review, and report it with the reason that applies.

Don’t ask for Yelp reviews

Yelp discourages businesses from soliciting reviews. Focus your review requests on Google instead.
